The Park Home And Holiday Park Association Stands With The People And With Park Operators Committed To Fairness, Transparency, And Responsible Practice

The sector must change for the people who bought residential and holiday park homes and invested their savings, while supporting the many good park operators who already act with fairness and integrity.

STAND UP FOR FAIR PRACTICES

The PHHPA Position

PHHPA will always: Stand with homeowners. Acknowledge emotional harm without amplifying rage. Separate lived experience from verified facts. Distinguish poor practices from good operators. Investigate issues before taking public positions. We speak for change, not against an industry.

THE PARK HOME SECTOR IS IN CRISIS

What Owners Are Facing Right Now

Across the UK, park home and holiday park owners are speaking out as unfair practices, aggressive sales tactics, and escalating costs push ordinary people to breaking point. What was sold as affordable living has, for many, become financial entrapment.

OWNERS ARE BEING MIS-SOLD AND TRAPPED

The Reality Behind the Sales Pitch
Homes sold at inflated prices. “Free pitch fees” that disguise the true cost. Resale restrictions that block exits. Ten per cent taken when owners sell their own homes. Families discovering too late that the rules change once the contract is signed.

THIS IS NOW A LEGAL AND POLITICAL ISSUE

Not Opinion. Not Exaggeration. Not Isolated.

A Personal Message From, Bradley Chapman

If you are reading this, there is a strong chance you are angry, upset, disappointed, or simply fed up. Some people are furious, and I understand that. Some people are angry but still trying to make sense of what has happened. Some people are quietly hurting and just want things to be fair again. I have met all of you, I have listened to you, and I know that this pain is real. There are things I have seen in this industry that genuinely turn my stomach. Not because all parks are bad, but because some operators have been allowed to do things they should never have been allowed to do. The damage does not stop at money. It affects families, stress levels, mental health, and trust in something people once loved.

I Am Not Speaking From the Outside

Caravan parks and holiday parks have been part of my life since I was a kid. This industry is not new to me. For many years, openly and sometimes quietly, I have travelled across the UK staying on holiday parks, residential parks, camping parks, and glamping sites. I have spoken to homeowners, operators, staff, suppliers, retirees, first-time buyers, and families who trusted the system and paid the price for it. I have worked with some of the largest park groups in the country, and I have worked with people starting out with nothing but good intentions. I have seen parks run with care and integrity, and I have seen parks where everything felt wrong. I have walked away from conversations knowing exactly what was going to happen next to a homeowner and hating it. This is not opinion. It is lived experience.

I Know What Some of You Have Been Through

I have met people whose parents were pressured into selling homes worth hundreds of thousands for a fraction of their value. I have met families terrified to challenge rising ground rents because they fear the consequences. I have seen people charged excessive mark-ups for basic home improvements simply because they were trapped and had no alternative. I have seen the shame, the stress, the anger, and the feeling of being powerless. If that is you, I see you.

Why PHHPA Exists

The Park Home and Holiday Park Association exists for one reason: to stand with the people. We exist to push for fair pricing, transparent contracts, reasonable service charges, and an industry where homeowners are treated with respect. We will speak publicly, we will go to government, we will work with the media, and we will represent homeowners nationally. Every time we travel, every time we speak, and every time we issue a press release, we are representing you. This is not about attacking an industry. It is about correcting it.

Supporting the Mission, £5 Per Month

For £5 per month, you are pledging ongoing support to the PHHPA legal and advocacy fund. This support can be cancelled at any time and should only ever be given if it is affordable to you. £5 per month is roughly the cost of a pound a week, but when enough people take that small step together, it creates a fund that gives homeowners a voice and presence where it has been missing. This fund is not individual legal representation. It is a collective national voice. It allows us to challenge unfair practices, engage expert legal support, go to government, and represent homeowners across the UK. In return for your £5 monthly pledge, we will give you one complimentary advert within the PHHPA directory for as long as your support remains active. This advert can be used to sell or advertise any caravan, lodge, holiday home, or residential park home. If you do not need the advert yourself, you are free to gift it to a family member or someone you know. We are not here to take from the public. We are here to support the public.

To the Good Park Operators Reading This

There are excellent park operators in this country. I have worked with them, I respect them, and I know the difference between good operators and bad practices. If you believe in transparency, fair treatment of customers, and long-term trust, you are welcome here. Park operators can become members of the Park Home and Holiday Park Association for £97 per year. Membership includes a complimentary advert within our directory to promote your park, whether you operate holiday homes, lodges, caravans, or residential park homes. Members may also choose to display the Fairer Parks Pledge Badge, showing homeowners and the public exactly where you stand.

Let’s Do This the Right Way

I am not here to take on everyone’s pain, but I do understand it. And I will not turn away from it. We do not fix this by shouting past each other. We fix it by standing together, calmly, firmly, and consistently. If you are angry, I understand. If you are hurting, I see you. If you want change, walk with us. Real change does not come from one dramatic moment. It comes from small, consistent steps taken together over time, and those steps compound into something far bigger than any one person.
